Came accross this fitting today, can you get a yorksher reducer like this or is it a bodge job. The white pipe is 28mm reducing to 22mm. Ptfe is wrapped under nut to the 22mm pipe..😊 its holding water but looks dodgie to me!!!

The white pipe is 28mm copper painted white - right?
28mm x 22mm Y6 to reduce it in one end?
28mm Compression fitting onto 28mm copper and then a reducer in the other.
It should be OK apart from it looking like the compression nuts been soldered to the pipe and the reducer.
I would proceed with caution expect anything.

Hi crowsfoot, the bit that looks like solder is p.t.f.e. what did you mean by y6?

Y6 = (Yorkshire 6), that's what we oldies call a reducer.
I would think that it's all up to scratch then EF. I would guess that the plumber who fitted it didn't have any jointing compound so improvised with a bit of ptfe wrapping it around the cones to help seal it (fairly common thing to do).
Perhaps it's a bit of old 3/4" copper.
