Freezing out there today
Done couple outside jobs, tomorrow's last day for outside
Just off to change or fix an overflowing tank on fortic.
One of my gardening custards who's 92 yo. Lovely man. House still in 1970 thought.

Got a fortic but the top of the cistern is full of really warm water.
The overflow is fixed.
Any thoughts on that please?

the water from the cylinder is expznding up into the cold part, Its very common if the heatings on and there's no control to the DHW, Or if its just electric, then the immersion stat is overheating, thats probably the cause of the overflow as well,

Or in a worse case senario, the heating coil is leaking into the DHW,

I said exactly that to the chap.
He said it'll always be warm as it's connected to the hot. I said no, it should be cold
It's just the immersion as the heating is electric.
Bingo. See I doubted myself again!
No more, now more confident.
Btw, it looks like I'm starting with the plumb & gas company next Monday.
