I don't understand that endfeed, ? unless you mean a street elbow, If its a street elbow, I've done that many times, i don't think its bad practice,

An instance where I've done this is a shower inlet, you need a compression fitting to conect to the shower but to get a tight bend to keep inside the perimeters of the shower unit you need a tight bend, so a street endfeed will allow you to do this, Other comp elbows or speedfit will be too bulky,

Sorry pb and battle,i wrote about street elbows but put endfeed elbows,so i deleted it as tom replied ...the question was is it bad practise to use a compression fitting on a street elbow.

I've noticed most of those Magnaclean filter are supplied with street elbows to be fitted with compression fittings and are installed with them.
