Well, speaking from my experience & please remember Scottish water is generally very soft - but that can be very acidic!! The worst & most manky systems are open vented, without question. With sealed systems, well it's a closed system, other than microleaks there's limited chance of O2 entering the CH water. So once it settles & completely bleed there should be little or no O2, no O2 means the ferrous metal will not rust.
The worst sealed systems I've seen are ones with Ladder type towel rails, they're a cunt!! Maybe something to do with the way they're PPC'd or Chrome Plated, these fuckers are full of rust!! I've dunnted one on the floor when fitting it & the rust falls out!!
The Germans use very little inhibitors, but generally fill their systems with distilled water.
Im convinced X100 is diluted to fuck!!
I hope this is of some help.

so tom if you empty a system and then refill you dont bother with inhibitor? mostly no, If i'm asked to put it in I do, it alters the waters PH levels, just like soap does, would you buy a tub of fairy liquid for £15 ?
