Called out to a job leak in airing cupboard, husband's try to tighten valve and made it worse.( as normal) The leak is the head gear on the pump valve and a half hour job using bungs. So heating off up to loft and bung feed and vent on F&E tank and then open up a drain off or the part you're working on and after a pint of water has escaped the system will vacuum and lock up, away you go. PB - that F & E tank looks rather clean - no brown sludge.
How common is it to find those pump isolation valves leaking?

posh clients hey? I like that, big bucks,,,, z1imWaSTVFkjRyfNQPFv I think posh clients with no spanners for tampering would be the better type of customer Tom. That radiator or should I of said "industrial heat exchanger" you changed today would of been at home on that system.

Also why the two vent caps and isolator valves I've never seen that always just noticed one? They are vents for a shower pump (hot & cold) sometimes plumbers will put iso's on them as they either leak or get blocked.

You won't find this hands on knowledge on screwfix forum. In truth there's very few of the plumbing forums offer much advice, they expect your skill level to be quite high and if you mention a combi question you'd think you we're talking about Jimmy Saville - they all go quiet.
