A few years ago another plumber asked me for a hand in changing a stop tap top.
I had the job off turning the boundary stop tap whist the other plumber was going to change the inside stop tap
The boundary stop tap looked a bit confusing because it could have been anyone of three.
I turned the first boundary stop tap off and got the thumbs up from the other plumber, right first time!
Back inside, the opened kitchen cold tap was now down to a dribble, so it was action stations.
However, what we didn't know is that the non rising spindle inside the cold tap was faulty and only opened the tap enough to let a dribble of water through it anyway (god knows how the customer had failed to notice this).
Well, you don't need to guess what happened next!
Tappy,

Too right PB!!
Actually all the water had gathered in a corner and we got going with the buckets and hand shovels and we got a lot of it cleaned up before the lady of the house returned.
Another 20 minutes of frantic cleaning up and I'm sure we would have got away with it!
