actually, I've never used one on heating, so thats a good point raised by PB, perhaps you better contact the tech dept and ask if they're ok on heating, better safe than sorry,,,

We did have the "Johnson coupling" back in the day which used the same grab ring technology EF. Although it was only for use on iron pipework (an old !water board! favourite). I know of a plumber who used them straight on plastic without any problems (ahead of his time). Not for my tight arsed gaffer though; "they cost money". I would have to keep digging until I found a screwed socket to connect too. Labour was still cheaper than most materials back in the early-mid seventies . Tappy,
