An AAV under the sink unit.
According to how you SHOULD fit it, it needs to be higher than the plug hole or higher than the actual sink?
I said to the bloke on the phone, how can it be higher than the sink if it's under the unit?
He said, well, it needs to be higher as i read about it.
Ok I say, how? Is the sink blocked & you thinks it's the AAV?
No, just planning, can you not cut a whole in the worktop?
No, it'll look shit, leave me alone, you're wasting my time.
Oh, he said, don't you want to to it then
Err...no!
So, above plug hole height or higher if possible?

As in a Durgo?
I've only fitted one on a stub stack next to a toilet and that was set at roughly a metre off the ground. I've only fitted anti vac traps under sinks to let air in, not full AAVs.

Why would someone want an AAV under a sink in the first place?

I've replaced one in a down stairs toilet on a gravity fed hot water system - fault when using the hot water it would sometimes splatter and spit so they had one fitted, which after about ten years of service it start to occasionally drip. I got the replacement job fitted this type www.screwfix.com/p/bottle-air-vent-15mm/34359 other than that one never seen any others.
