hi.bathroom basin was blocked so took off mcalpine p trap and cleaned it.put it back together and now it leaks.my question is does the the p trap end that connects to sink tail/bottom should there be a rubber washer on there? can you buy these washers separately or do i need to buy a new trap? does screwfix sell these washers? many thanks

It'll need a black rubber washer so it compresses between the plastic nut & the waste. Maybe it fell off when you removed it.

As rocky says there is a black rubber seal and you can buy separately but if you have a roll of PTFE you can make your own.  |

Where the rubber seal would go get the PTFE and as you pull it off the reel make it in to a string and then wrap that around where the rubber seal would go, job done aj. |
