I filed the pipe first endfeed, Didn't think it was going to go on at first tom! Like E/F said it didn't look to have much of a chamfer on it. Works on push fit waste pipe as well of course. If you rub the soil-pipe edge along a concrete path at an angle you don't have to even bother filing it. A plumber whom I sometimes work with actually cuts a chamfer into the soil-pipe with his hacksaw, he's quite good at it too (much too fiddly and time consuming for me to ever attempt)!

Also, & I don't know if you thought of this but as well as lubricating it also gives the pipe a clean plus a lovely fresh smell.

Top tip that tappy, I knew it would work in Tom's vid because I used furniture polish when I built an ensuite shower/toilet room onto our bedroom. I used it on the 4" pipe waste, because I'm a greedy twat to buy the proper lube
