Today working on one of these for slow filling toilet fault Attachment DeletedI expected the typical fault of a split in the inlet water diaphragm as below Attachment DeletedBut it not this time! Attachment DeletedToday on this job it was the valve within the housing which has a clip either side (as shown in the above image) - which if you carefully prise the clip on the edge it allows access to the chamber and the removal of a small shuttle valve which required cleaning. Now this is the only one I've ever that fail like that giving exactly the same fault as a split diaphragm.

I would of preferred to fit a new complete inlet valve since then it's all covered by warranty but the changing wasn't simple, since the floor covering may of not went back perfect so I offered the repair option.

I've never dismantled one insitu to the extent you did in your video Tom(very helpful thank you) for the one reason, you can't see the quality of work the installer left and I've twisted a flexi before which then blew off and give me the hurry ups - nearly broke my neck getting to the stop tap.

those flexis can be a nightmare, One bust on a job where i was, even though I'd never touched, it was under the kitchen sink, I'd fixed the upstairs toilet, 1 hour later a flexi blew under the sink for no apparent reason, The lady phoned me and i had to go straight back, she was in panic mode, the kitchen was flooded and she would/could not understand it was nothing to do with my work,I had a spare in the van and changed it but she was adamant she was not paying, So I lost on that job, she was also threatening to sue me, but she never did,

some of the fancy bathroom taps you can't get to them, they are tiled and boxed in, some are underfloor, plumbers of the future will be very busy Attachment Deleted
