Ouch.
Don't you love it when the customer only tells you they've used chemicals after you got it all over yourself...
Once did a job for an actual industrial chemist (chemistry degrees etc.) who had tried to clear a shower waste with one shot and burnt the crap out of his hands and arms when the flexi waste melted.
