I think I'm going to give this a go , and see how I get on . The Makers say it's ok . , "" From the Manufacturer The Lenox Tools 2993232CG Master-Grit Carbide Grit Hole Saw 2-Inch 51MM is best for cutting Abrasive Materials. The Master-Grit hole saws will work great for materials like brick and tile and will work in materials like Cast Iron and Cement Board. The cutting edge is made out of Tungsten Carbide for extreme durability in harsh materials. The carbide grit also reduces snagging and chipping when cutting through thin materials. In the past how I got this wrong was using a cheap standard drill bit in the pilot arbor, so what I'm saying both the hole saw and pilot drills need to be of same quality.

I'm reasonably Confident , that it's going to be ok , a few Plumbers have said that they've used it without problems , and 2 of the Reviews on the Screwfix page , also say , used it for Cast Iron without problems certainly seems a better idea to Drill it and use a Strap Boss , rather then try to cut it and use a Branch . Great product 7 Aug 2016 By PHence Shepshed " Cut a 57mm hole in a cast iron soil pipe which the Erbauer would hardly scratch " . Cast iron soil stack 5 Aug 2016 By Diddlybo Harrogate " Started using Erbauer Holesaw from a set I already had to install Mcalpine connector boss into old cast iron soil stack. The tool dulled almost straight away. Bought this and completed the job relatively quickly with the tool still fit for further use. Also much quicker to fit or exchange to the powerchange arbor than the Erbauer. Definitely worth the extra money. Wish I had found these first. "

You'll need a mechanical boss mate for that task.
