Fuck that! I'd cut the pipe and whack a pushfit lever valve on, small puddle of water and job done.

I can see that being very useful in certain circumstances when there doesn't seem to be any other way to get the water off. Have ordered one to put on the van for emergencies. See Screwfix do them too but quite a lot more expensive.

I can see this being very useful in certain circumstances, however I would like to know what happens to the cut out section of pipe. I notice there has been no reply to this question on line by the makers, when asked about it. Or if it could cause problems. It would be interesting to see one dismantled to show exactly how it works.

I find on old pipe work that type of device has a history of causing bits or even chunks of scale to break free from with the existing pipework and the next thing you know the combie has gone off on low flow blocked inlet filter.

I've seen one similar to that before, I can't find the vid now it was a yank fitting, the copper cut off was pushed into the a void inside the valve, maybe this does the same, I dunno,
