So I personally tried power flux for ages & it make the fitting nearly unmoveable on the pipe, so I changed to laco which is good
Yesterday my mate introduced me to everflux. It's good, a tip he gave me was that the flame turned a greenish colour when the pipe was hot enough to melt the solder, it worked. It might help out the novice who's not 100% confident.
On the castle job I had a problem, fitted pipe & fittings together etc. Heated but solder wouldn't take, took apart, water in pipe, tried again, same, took me 4 attempts but sorted in the end. A good learning experience that, the solder was melting but just fell off the pipe.
Cheers all

I've always used laco rocky but its each to their own, normally when you see the flux bubbling that's the time to strike it with the solder.

I never really had a particular brand, just got whatever was cheapest in the merchants, but I've been on Laco for a few years now, funnily enough it was after using Powerflow and I hated the way it grabbed the fittings.

Never used power flux. Used to use Laco, just didn't really like it, the brush in the lid was spot on though. Always use everflux (mans flux as people call it) spade bit a hole in the top stick a brush in, away you go. You know about it you get it in a cut though
