Hi all, what are your thoughts on these, we have a kitchen program on at he moment and every house has to have one. I attended meetings and thought they were a great idea and recommended them but now I won't fit them the kitchen lads are putting them in now I'm having floods and taking them out. the unit itself looks to be fine but it's always the two blue narrow pipes that go into the remote on kitchen wall. there around fifty quid great idea but I just don't think they have it right yet?

I went out to one once that had flooded a whole utility room, it was leaking from the casing,,,,I went to another for an elderly lady that was flooding her kitchen and who ever fitted it had removed the original stoptap. (Cunts) I was outside her house at night pitch black and pissing with rain trying to find the stopcock.
SURESTOP WORSE THAN WITCHES SHIT. smiley-chores037 binsout

Fitted a couple over the years, not had any issues that I know of. Fitted one in my mums house a couple of months ago after she fell trying to turn off her actual stop tap, there was no play on the incoming pipe so ended up using 4 elbows into the surestop valve about 5 inches to the side of the incoming pipe. Surprises me to hear people have had issues with them, I had only heard good things about them up to now.

Ha Ha, that reminded me of a new housing development i was on 20 odd years ago, this couple bought the showhouse and they were moving in, It was a friday night about 4.00 and it was dark, As i was driving off the site the new owner came running up to me and shouting HELP HELP we're flooded, So i went in the house, He was fitting a phone extention cable round the plinths of the kithen and drilled a hole in the incoming water main below the stop tap, It was pissing out the whole ground floor was a paddling pool, I went to look for the stoptap in the road but the tarmacers had covered it somewhere, The only way I could stop it was to cut the 25mm blue alk incoming main and bend it over itself, It was Winter, the ground floor was flooded, the only way was to lie in the flooded floor reach in and saw the main, I was fucking soaked but i stopped the water, After I thought to my self, Why did i do that, the place was flooded anyway, It was't my fault, I got no payment and i had to drive home, about 40 miles soaking wet and freezing cold,,,
I sent a bill in and it never got payed, when i made a fuss about it to the builders, they moved me off the site, smiley-sad056 nay
