Thx to Tom for the chat earlier
Would raising the cwsc up as far as possible to increase head assist with possible pump issue?
Just as a recap, mate fitted new shower with pump on open vented system. Worked but then failed, swapped pump - failed to operate again, yesterday we renewed hot feed to shower, tested & worked but now failed.
Pump not kicking in.
Bar mixer shower, positive head pump,
My thoughts are
1) rip filters off shower 2) raise cwsc up to get more head 3) tear hair out
Any other thoughts friends? Custard has got the hump!
Cheers all

Mmmm..
I've just spoken to my mate
I reckon it's a pressure issue now I've had a ponder. When he tested it he undid the shower hose & the pump kicked in. He then attached the shower hose & at waist height the pump kicked in.
The custard is using it from the shower bracket & the pump won't start up.
My solution is to build the cwsc up higher in the loft.
We're going to try to visit tomorrow to test the theory. If that fails, I.e the pump won't kick in with the shower head dangling near the tray then we're screwed.
I'll be reporting back

ah so water is running to the valve, is the water level in the tank at least 1 meter above the shower head ? if not, raiseing the tank will be good,

I always fit a Salamander or Essex flange to the tank if I'm doing that type of work Rocket - I found it burns the pump seals out due to air issues, has the install got one fitted?

Cheers Battle I read that earlier. I'm 99% certain the raising of the cwsc will do it.

If you have under a meter head rocky you need a negative head pump but raising the cwsc will cure your problem. I always fit Stuart Turner pumps that switch from positive and negative.

Thx PB I'll let my mate know. We might visit tomorrow as it's got to be sorted out. Positive pumps sense flow. Negative pumps sense pressure imbalance.
