This is a job I done in an office block the old main came under the concrete floor and was leaking into the block below, I capped it off where it entered the services cupboard and ran a new main from the boiler room through a void and up into their kitchen and reconnected to their service pipe. Another interesting job there for you PB Now not wishing to seem cheeky I just require educating (as I'm a DIYer) - I noticed it has a compression fitting after the water meter when I see a ball valve upstream so why not remove the compression fitting with soldered fittings? smiley-talk002 3 amigos

The compression was already there and a big tangle of pipe which I cut out so it was just as easy to reuse the fitting.
