They fell apart today!! I have been using them quite a lot since I got them and they had been performing well so I was quite surprised when the pin suddenly became undone (although a very popular grip failing for this style of grips). I've now put them back together and tightened up the pin and they appear to be holding but I know that the writings now on the wall for my pair of cheapo grips! I was wondering how some of the other pairs that were bought by other forum members are performing? Attachment Deleted

Maybe so PB.
I can remember Gordon grips; a well made in England name, but they would fail after 5 or 6 months with the same fault. The local hardware store could order you a new pin which took bloody ages to arrive and you could get another 5 or 6 months out of them before that pin would also then fail.
Nonetheless Gordons were regarded as the best grips you could buy back in the 70s.

Basically Tappy I'll sacrifice that one for a fitted bolt from a local supplier www.arndale.co.ukand lock it into a comfortable operational position with stud lock.

OK I think I get the jest of it battle, you replace the pin with a specialist bolt. I didn't want to do the old plumbers trick of fitting a spout bolt instead ! I'll see how they go from here, although I'm not too confident now about their future in my tool box. I'm actually thinking of deliberately leaving them behind in some customers house as a kind of homage to all the good/expensive tools that we accidently leave behind in customers homes that we never get back. Knowing my luck they'll probably ring in and I'll get given them back Tappy,
