Hello Friends
So after my mates issues with his pump job a few weeks ago I've been asked to put one in, past post.
So last night I had a read & as PB recommended I looked at Stuart Turner. Specifically the monsoon model at 3bar for approx £450. Now it's positive/negative & it also said it needs no flow to start the pump.
It's a gravity system & ive yet to go up in the loft to see how high the cold is but I'm guessing it's on the rafters. Ceilings are normal height so the shower head in riser is maybe 0.5-1 meter below cold.
My question is, do you think this pump is overkill? What I don't want is for the pump not to kick in if I put a cheaper positive head only one in. It's also going to serve the whole house with is a 4 bed detached with 3 bathrooms.
The custard, very nice people, took a little gasp when I told them the pump was £500 (yes £50 mark up). The other pumps are cheaper to say the least.
Cheers all.

if its got three bathrooms its defo not overkill, in fact it will need a good un so thats the one to get, You can rest assured the monsoon pump will be good enough,

I've tried fitting cheaper and find its false economy Rocket - I like Salamander Pumps for the simple reason, five year no quibble warranty and trouble free.
Also if the household wants a good shower at multiple points you need a good pump of that pressure and flow period and your quoted price isn't off the mark.

Cheers Battle
I like to price properly & covet my costs etc.
I think if they want the pump it's a monsoon monster.

Whats the probs with them mate? You have to set them to what head you have ,so you set it to negative and when the customer has a brief power cut it reverts back to positive,,, they then ring you up and say, "Pumps not working". I fitted a bathroom for an old lady a few yrs back and I'm always resetting hers. Salamander pumps tend to get leaks too, especially on the ones that have all plastic housing.

The salamander has stupid lights with fault codes and you have to switch it on then off wait 10 seconds then switch it back on ,,,right piece of shit.
