Just had a call, chap says his kitchen sink drain, which has sink, washing machine & dishwasher is constantly dumping water in the drain outside!!
He said dishwashers & wm are both switched off!!
He can hear water running.
I remember he's got a combi, would it be the condensate if that's attached?
Just getting changed & going to look (not for free).

If it's the condensate it will throw a bit out (maybe a couple of cups) when the boiler is started from cold then taper off to a drip after a minute.
Check to see if the PRV is teed into a waste pipe too, if so could be filling loop open.

Ive had similar prob mate,turned out to be mains underground in sink area leaking fast!the sound was passing to waste pipes could hear it upstairs as well.hope this helps 👍

Strange one, the water softener letting by.
There's a small blue tube that goes into the sink waste. Don't know why or how to fix it but turned off to bypass softener & all ok. He'll need to phone the engineer

I wouldn't of had a clue mate, we've got neutral water up here, never even seen a water softener. Glad you sorted it easy  |

Hi Bearwood here. Round Reading, we have lots of these water softeners. Even my house has one. Damn nuisance if you ask me. Pesky things which are always needing topped up with salt. Not just any old salt from Asda though. It's a special salt and costs a small fortune to keep topped up. I have always wondered why they just can't supply ordinary water instead of this "hard water", or perhaps soften it before it gets into their pipework. Reckon I'm a gonna take mine out, if I can figure out how it's plumbed in. Good job I have my led headlamp, as the softener is in a cupboard under the sink. Sure I'll get around to it one day.
