Are these just screwed in?
Connection on first, some sort of flexi? The fire in & screw in?
Got a job to replace one for an old old lady.
Cheers all

they usually have a steel cable that wraps round a bracket screwed on the chimney back, then 2 ferrals go on the cable to pull the cable and tighten up with a screw, a picture paints a thousand words, Attachment Deleted

Hope this helps. The gas supply will probably be in 8 mm copper behind the fire in the opening. you can put a bit of a loop in it if necessary but you may already have a bit of play, which will help. The pipe will probably come through an opening in the rear of the fire and you will connect it to the fire with the restrictor supplied. Remember no soldered joints under the burner.

cheers JJ, I missed that bit about the flexi,, like anthony says, its most likely 8mm fed in from the back, you never use flexi's or push fit on gas, stricly copper, soldered or compression,

I had an inset fire fitted many years ago. I prepared the opening for the fitter and he connected it up using 8-10mm copper pipe.

Gee, never knew that joiner John. I ain't never done a gas fire before, but I kinda reckoned they'd need to be connected to the gas supply some way.
Cheers

Put mine in using 8mm copper and a compression joint. Good luck with it.
