There's a 60's build council house which will be extended. The soil is the type that runs internally & toilet, basin, bath & kit sink are all connected to. It's never been touched or modernised.
The soil is at the rear in the front hall cupboard.
The single storey extension will extend the kitchen right across property.
The sink now is central under the window & will stay there but will be an island.
Now, the custard wants a ds toilet, basin & shower.
In the front garden is just concrete under the front near the house - no manhole covers.
The main soil will be left in place & enclosed in a cupboard area as is now.
So, the question is, is it better to dig down & put new services under the existing outlets so not to disturb them?
Also the soil is cast so what would you use to connect the new shower etc.
It's just in planning stage at the moment. Shouldn't be any issues with council.
Cheers all.

I would take out the existing cast soil and refit in plastic, then try to plan the new downstairs toilet to drain to the existing position of the soil pipe,

Ok
So do you think cutting at say ceiling height to leave the original first floor services as they'll not be touched.
Then new plastic soil connected & services connected with ease I think.

Sorry I missunderstood, I thought the whole house was getting refurbed, So if you're leaving the upstairs as it is, I'd cut off about waist high so you're not struggling with a grinder off ladders and renew with plastic to the drain putting a juction for the toilet and a short boss pipe in as low as possible for the shower and sink, short boss pipe as low as possible
