Was called out to a blocked shower drain last week, went armed with my trusty snake and was prepared to be tugging at greasy pubes and slime but it turned out to be a low level tray on a tiled floor and a very narrow drain with no access to use the snake. I know I should have a plunger as a plumber but I usually say no to blockages, this was an exception as it was a lettings agency job with an agency I recently got on with. So was just about to nip out and buy a plunger when a gas engy I know came into the house as he was called out to fix their boiler. Asked him if he had a plunger and he nipped out to his van and came back in with one of these monument power plungers. He pumps it up, puts the nozzle on that snugly fits the shower waste and pulls the trigger. I have to say I was impressed, that's all it took, one blast and the pipe was cleared, he gave it another couple of blasts for good measure. I'll definitely be getting one of these. £30 at poofix but seen them online for £21 so will have a search as I am also a tight twat. www.screwfix.com/p/professional-power-plunger/90321

Yeah, the bit of waste you could see outside was solvent weld so I was hoping at was all solvent weld, don't think pushfit waste would hold for very long using one of these. Tom, I don't remember Tappys bottle trick, did you do a video?

Oh yeah I remember that one, bloody good tip that. Don't think you could apply it to a shower or sink though.
