Going to change the waste to a pop up one
Got to try to get behind the pedestal
Pain in the bottom
I just hope it'll move a couple of inches

Well done Rocketman, it looks like the old waste had a whole tube of silicon used on it. We always use plumbers mate on ours, what about you ?

rocky wins again,,,nice little pop up waste, much better than plug n' chain,, plumbings not like football plumbing, if you don't win you don't get paid football, you work 90 minutes a week and get paid if you win or lose, but you're a overpaid wanker, if you trip and fall, they need a stretcher to carry you off, plumbers are real men,,,,

Pleased it all went well for you Rocket. I find those pop up waste troublesome for sealing with the seals supplied and buy an alternative seal for couple of pounds.

Im never sure what is the correct way,if there is one? ive never had any call backs...anyway here goes roll a sausage of plumbers mait, put under top of slotted waist, pull slotted waist into basin hole let plumbers mait ooz's out, turn basin over pump silcone into bottom of slotted waist(make sure over flow is lined up) put polywasher on if I remember to buy one! then screew back nut on,two screwdrives into top of slotted waste hold them and tighten up back nut, whipe off excess silcone,, scrap plumbers mait from around top of waist, chuck the seals away, job done..do you guys do it any diffrent? Is it wrong to not use the seals????poly washers good idea or not needed? smiley-talk002 3 amigos

Thank feck for the Klic/Klac type pop-up waste. The old lever & rod were a complete PITA!! With that daft hole in the mono-bloc mixer tap, pure crap.
Dont be tempted to use silicone under the top part of the grating(we call them gratings in Jockoland), it can discolour, look black & awful. As always, follow Tom's lead.

I was surprized to get one today, doing a bathroom and the sink waste was a pop up through the monoblock tap, My heart sank, As Dick says they are a total pain in the backside, I thought they'd gone out of fashion, the suite came from screwfix, so watch out for them,, smiley-finger005
