Hi all got to change taps on basin and sink would like to know how to lsolate hot and cold supply as the system has a boilermate 2000 thermal store open vented usually I would find gate valve supplying cold to cylinder and isolate there but there is no valve on this one would I be correct in thinking as the system is using main pressure water through plate exchanger to pick up heated water from thermal store if I turn main stopcock off this would stop water to hot and cold taps without draining cistern down ? any advice would be appreciated thanks

yes mate the boilermate is a thermal store system and the hot is forced through the heat bank with cold water, turn off the cold and the hot will stop as well, they're a pig of a system, overly complicated combi but without any advantages of a combi system,
good luck sweegy

Hi there again just need a little more info on isolating hot and cold feed after turning main stop cock off should I then turn programmer off as well to stop pump starting up or will this not happen as no cold from main is going in ? Thanks for help

the pump could still kick in as it recycles hot water to keep the heat bank hot, but this won't affect the hot water supply, but there's no harm in being safe, when ever i work on a boiler, what ever system, I knock the fused spare off, just out of habit,

they are also a vented cylinder but with mains hot water so they don't come under G3.
