Does anyone use the stability gadgets to stop stainless sinks flexing when a tall mono mixer is fitted? Got a customer complaining that their new tap (a Bristan Sentinel) is wobbling.

Some of these shiny modern sinks are of a very thin metal DC and they do move about quite a lot. I replaced one with a thicker type of steel which did the trick, however, the customer still complained in that it was now a dull finish on the sink that never looks clean! I guess you can't please everyone all the time .

Those Bristan filter taps are crap as is their customer service
I fitted one at my house, looks ok, but spout very loose, try to tighten from rear, yes it stops it becoming loose but then it doesn't swivel

That's the ones, Dick. I think they screw to the underside of the worktop but doesn't sound like anyone on here has used them.

franke are good quality sinks, the steel is thicker so its less likely to flex about and the price reflects that, the taps however are overpriced, if the sink is solid, a cheaper tap will do the same job, imho,

Yeah, to get under sinks you need to be flexible
I've had to do it by feely touchy
It's a bugger to say the least

I do taps by brail, I've heard other plumbers say, " I use my minds eye" which I thought sums it up good, Only a girraffe could see what they are doing as you fit taps,
