My gas mate gave me a job, leaky stop cock, just pack the gland he says, charge what you want. Ok, nice one, local to me. Turn up, stop cock leaking above nut & below. Try to nip it up, no go. Right, water off in street. Did down to find the tap bit, turn off as far as it'll go, no good Call Thames water, they turn up, nope all needs digging out & renewing. Lovely Thank Chum, pack the gland my ass! Back when Thames water fix it & I'll put a new cock in (pardon me). Good little job. Customers a drama queen though. Bit of a chav. House full of crap, kids off school, husband like the Michelin man & not working, older son left school & doing fuck all. Pics below    |

you did right rocky, Its a dogs dinner, those nuts top and bottom have been screwed as far as they'll go, another twist on those and you could be up the creek and no paddle, Once the water is off you can renew the lot and have peice of mind,  |

They've renewed the outside tap with a simple 1/4 tap
They've go to go back to fill the hole in on 30/7 I think the sign said

yea, that pipe is well overtightened, not inserted enough and cut badly, you'd never have made that good without renewing, Always best to renew if it looks dodgy,
