If I'm in and out it's £25 or £30 if there's a part needed like a torbeck diaphragm washer, tap washer, ISO valve etc. I'll charge as little as £10 for an in and out job if it's an old dear. Changing ball valve in tank would be £60. I work on the principle that if I do the small jobs at a good price then I'll probably be the one they call for the bigger jobs. I'd prefer 10 cheap quick jobs in a day than 4 pain in the arse jobs for the same money. If it's nice weather it's the best job in the world doing lots of little easy stuff, Bolton's quite pretty in some parts and I still enjoy driving.

I'm similar to JC, the north is full of plumbers and competition is fierce, A local job is £30 for first half hour plus stuff, then £20 per half hour after, I can get more from regular customers because I know they'll come back anyway, Cylinders and tanks are good paying jobs because it looks a big job but are easy really, So on a tank or cylinder £500 labour for half a day is never argued over, On the other hand peoples face will drop if you charge £50 labour for a radiator change, which involves just as much work and more fucking about, So its a case of getting as much as you can from each job and don't do the pain in the arse jobs,

a few of us were having a chat about pricing the other day. a lot of boys are obsessed with the bigger jobs due to big prices and the longer the jobs last the less you have to look for where the next job is coming from, but i have worked out like JC and TomP already said the smaller jobs in and out can be more lucrative. People will pay more for last minute urgent stuff too. And small jobs less risk if you do get knocked i would rather it be for £100 than £3000
