hi everyone i want to fit an outside tap. I have a few questions if i may.i want to do it in 15mm copper. what size hole should i drill through wall? if the tap has a built in non return valve could i still fit an extra one on the pipework in case the built one fails? should i use loctite 55 on tap instead of ptfe tape? many thanks

1/2" drill bit will be big enough. This is a professional kit that contains all that you need www.travisperkins.co.uk/Outside-Garden-Tap-Pack-15mm/p/401029?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIsZqAiMX81AIVyr3tCh0W5A6VEAQYAyABEgLfePD_BwEAvoid those self cutting ones.... they're rubbish. Cold water is all that is normally used for a garden tap aj. A single non return valve is a requirement by the WRAS, it will work better and be more reliable without one fitted so I would only fit 1 (less to go wrong )! PTFE and wrap it on thick at the end of the threads so you can finish it in a downwards tight position. Tip......If you have a drain tap screwed in above the stop tap you should be able to unscrew it and fit a Cu3 into the threads thus save cutting in a Tee.

Drill your hole aj to fit 22mm pipe or plastic over flow as a sleeve then pass your 15mm through that mate

endfeed what size drill bit should i use, if i use 22mm as a pipe sleeve? I'd say a 25mm hole would be about right (plastered or siliconed, round the edges, after the sleeve has been put in to stop insects getting in)
