As the title suggests, I can't be arsed. Do you guys ever get them days where you're half way through a job and you just can't be arsed? I ripped a 1800 shower tray out yesterday afternoon and arrived today to fit the new bath. The delivery was about an hour late so was sat outside for the first hour doing nowt. Then got the bath up and it's a pokey bathroom with no real space outside it either. You know how it goes with fitting baths, you have to move them around a lot and it's such a pain when you have the basin 2'' from the side of the bath and a door that's 1'' from the other end. There's wooden aqua panelling that I half multi-tooled out up to the level of the bath so I can recess the bath properly, then my blade gave up and it was my last one, so packed it in for the day. Problem is I really just cannot be arsed to go back tomorrow, I still have to frame the bath and connect it up to the plumbing then fit the bath panel and do a bit of boxing. I've done all the fiddly levelling and getting floor supports down so I'm on the back furlong now really but still totally and utterly cannot be arsed feeling-blue-smiley-emoticonrain I'm making decent money too from this job, so shouldn't complain really, but I'd much rather do 3-4 toilet syphons or fill valves in a day than fit baths. There's nothing enjoyable about fitting a bath it's the arse end of plumbing. Rant over

You're right there, only job I lost money on was a bathroom, I'd only been a full time plumber for about 6 months, floor was spongy so needed new floorboards, customer bought their own cheap overly-complicated shitty taps that wouldn't seal, they bought their own bath that was also shite, there was about 5-6 of them watching everything I did and asking why I was doing it that way, one tit even said I should check the copper tube to make sure there were no spiders in it!. On the 3rd day I packed my tools up and told them to get another plumber. Looking back I was a bit of knob really as I'd done all the hard work...

I called time on fitting them myself around 20years ago, due to the exact same reason.
Bath frame was of a type that I'd never seen before and the customer automatically thinks
that you are a world expert on them!
Customer then gets continually in the way "I've never seen a bath fitted before"!
Add some cats, missing parts on the WC into the mix and that was me done with bathrooms.
Good luck for today JC.
Still fit baths at work though.

I think I've mentioned this before, back in the 70s I once fitted a dual colour bathroom suit. It was red and white with matching tiles and when it was done it all looked fantastic!!

Well I got called to a leak before the bath job today which needed a drain down, so only got a couple of hours at the bath job. Did the frame, the legs meant I had to split the back frame in to 3 sections but it's quite possibly the best bath frame I've ever done, was all perfectly level first time I put the bath on it, I think that's a first for me, there's usually at least one bit I need to chock up or shave down. Just need to connect water and waste tomorrow between my other jobs, oh and do the shower screen but that will have to wait as I'll be finishing the silicone tomorrow too. I'm going to sub the boxing to a tiler mate. Luckily this customers' mum lives round the corner and they're using her bath/shower while I'm dragging this out

Oh my actual god! This job is taking forever.. Only had the shower screen and panel left to do today, got the bracket for the shower screen screwed in to the wall, tiler turns up so I give him an hour to do the boxing and once he's finished he tells me he's siliconed and grouted up to the bath, so no movement until tomorrow because it needs to set. To be fair though, I'm happy with any excuse to get out of that bathroom, so I didn't argue Got a call from the customer last night, no heating/hot water. I had to turn the water off yesterday so flicked the boiler off, now the pilot won't stay lit. Gas man on his way on Monday. It's great fun being a plumber sometimes On a plus side though, had a job on my way back from there to a toilet that won't stop flushing. It was a cistern block (blu loo) wedged under the flush seal, 2 mins of a job

When I used to do shit jobs with my old mentor he would always say to me, " EXPECT A BIT OF DUST WITH YOUR COAL" a saying that stuck with me.
