Anyone fit these? I very rarely come across them but need to fit one for a customer next week. Going to be an Insinkerator from poofix for £110 and going to route an extension lead along the back of the base units for it or under them depending on access. They look pretty straightforward, any tips from anyone who has more experience than me?

they're heavy fuckers, to fit them single handed you'll need to pack it up from underneath, a upturned bucket plus some blocks will usually do, the other main problem is,,the out let is usually lower than normal and this can mean lowering the waste pipe, if the existing one goes straight out the wall it will mean making a new hole through the wall,

just had a quick shuftie on shitfix, It says easy mounting, so they've improved the two handed fixing, that should be easier though, the waste might still be a nuisance though.

Yeah, from what I can gather, you fix the waste on the sink like a normal plug hole type, the bottom just screws into the top or maybe the other way, then the unit latches onto it. From memory, the waste pipe is pretty low on this sink anyway, it was under the cabinet shelf if I remember rightly so should be an easy job. Famous last words haha.

Well I fitted the waste disposal today. Was a relatively easy job, infact hardest part was probably routing the extension lead behind an integrated dishwasher Here's me getting the sink waste ready. Wonder wipes cleaned the rim of the hole up nicely. Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment DeletedCan only add 3 pics per post so will continue below.

The instructions say you only need to use the provided rubber washers to seal the waste to the sink but I use Plumbers Mait every time and never have leaks so sausages of Plumbers Mait were also used. Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

When tightening up the bracket underneath, the supplied rubber seal on the top section was squeezed out completely so I was really glad I'd not followed the instructions. There was still plenty of Mait above so left it without the supplied seal. Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

Then you simply offer the unit up to the bracket and turn it into place until it clicks. There is still some movement left when tight to adjust it so you can line up the waste. I was lucky, it was already level with the existing waste spigot. Not often that happens. Attachment DeletedOne short piece of the old waste bridged that gap perfectly, no cutting required Plugged it in and all worked and was watertight first time. I'd also done 3 lever tap conversions and replaced a basin mono with a lever one in the first hour. All in all I was there about 3 hours including chatting and a tea and biscuit break. If every day working as a plumber went like today I'd be happy as a pig in shit, not a bad pay day either
