So when a rad tail drips it's a real pain.
If you turn both ends off & bleed the rad until no water comes out, should the rad air lock allowing you to undo / retape tail & fix.

that will stop most of the water comeing at you rocky but the water contained in the rad will 'glug' out, so a towel or tray underneath will be needed to protect the carpet, It can be awkward if the pipes cannot be pushed out of the way,
