Hi gents just watched toms vid soilpipe 2013 project... Im gonna try and duplicate the 40mm in to a short boss as im installing new basin toilet and shower... so firstly i need to buy a hole saw to cut through the brick will a 45mm do or should i play it safe and go for a 50mm..
ive bought macalpine anti vac for the basin and bath waste ( there only a extra quid anyway) so thought that woudnt hurt ... showers about a 2 metre straight run to the outside wall not massive drop ive read it should be 18mm min i think i can just make that to the wall where its going in to a elbow straight down and in to back in to the short boss as in toms vid,, is it worth putting a non return valve on the shower 40mm before it comes out of the wall or is there no need..
and i was just thinking of cutting a section out of the vertical soil stack and fitting and solvent weld the short boss in ....
any pointers much appreciated..
cheers Flint

Hi Flint, If you're using 40mm pipe and its got fall, however slight it will be ok, a non return valve will slow the flow down, even if its level it will still work as long as there's no back fall, 45mm is ok for the hole through the wall because the elbow is slighly bigger because of the socket on the elbow will need to sit inside the hole so 40mm will not be big enough,

strap boss is fine, make sure the hole is big enough, you get enough glue on and used the ones with a bolt, www.toolstation.com/shop/p28589?searchstr=strap%20bossa short boss is a lot of hassle and they can leak too if you don't get enough glue on, or like rocky says and use a mechanical,
