Evening all..
call out to this earlier, custard bought a hive and gave up - hence the shout! Arrived to find about a metre of wire going into the programmer/stat (st10 I think) with choc block on the other end with a loop in??
removed this wire and put a link wire only back in to check operation. Switched boiler on and found that the pump runs permenantly in standby! After 30 seconds or so a blue light flashes. Called technical and they say board fault but I'm swaying to a fan.
Thoughts gentleman?

I'm not familiar with this boiler but i do know they are complex wiring, you need good multimeter skills and a good multimeter to determine the fault, because the fan might be running but not going to stage 2, But the question is, is it not going to stage 2 because the fans fucked, or because the board is not giving out the signal, The BG gas man will change the more expensive part first, if that doest work, he'll change the other,
Me, I'd go with what the worcester techco says, if he's wrong, you can blame him, whichever way you won't get your money back from the spares, they are the real winners,

Thanks Tom. Not my bag either this boiler - over engineered in my opinion!! The fan as you say is a 2 stage but doesn't run at all, however the pump is permanently running with no heating or hw demand to be honest the techy at WB was about as useful as a waterproof tea bag. I've got a board coming in tomorrow on his say so. I'll report back here tomorrow! Worst thing they did was give boilers brains Thanks again Tom.

in that case,if the fans not running and it has 240v at the live, it defo is the fan, if there's no volts at the fan it MIGHT be the board or something else between, as I'm not best informed on that boiler I can't say what controls/sensors and links interupt the curcuit, if the juice is at the fan and its not going, thats the problem,

Changed board and fault persisted but there was juice at the fan plug this time! Called WB and they said they advise changing fan if changing pcb... what a con! Anyway rather expensive day for the custard today unfortunately.

one of their stocking trade answers is,
" the PCB board flew because the fan was faulty, so changing the fan will ensure the board will have a 12 month warrantee",,,, qwerty

The lad actually said "the fan is 2 stage and the new board has probably sent a surge to the fan and maybe compromised the fan" perfectly script read qwerty
