Next door to me is having new tenants. ramjam LL there today sees me in my garden. I know what's coming, the house is damp but it's on an internal wall. Ds toilet, off kitchen, wall damp where toilet is, joins next house, pipe runs from kitchen under ground to toilet & up.
There are no visible leaks anywhere. Drain directly outside toilet window.
Roof needs attention, gaps in pointing. I've told him to get it fixed. His choice.
Anyway, all I can think is pipe maybe leaking in floor. Next door to them is dry, internal stack dry.
It's not a new issue, got worse over last 2/3/4 yrs.
I won't get involved for free!
Any thoughts friends?
Can dig floor up, if dry, reconstruct with concrete.
Can see anywhere else it might be from. Toilet waste also goes into floor & out to drain.
Thx all

Its one of three things, leak from a pipe, water ingress from outside, roof or wall, or its the good ole condensation, there's water in the air ALL the time, heat holds it in the air but, when the cold temps come the air realises the water onto the cold surfaces, Ask him to run a dehumidified and see how fast the bucket inside the dehumidifier fills up, that will be an indication of how high the humidly is, then go from there, if its not filling the bucket, it might be a leak or ingress,

Cheers. I told him last year to get a dehumidifier but he didn't
I'll tell him now, he's still there
