I struggle along with the pipe cutters I bought for plastic supply pipe, it's awkward but I just can't justify the £50 or whatever rothenburger waste pipe slices would cost. Had one in my hand and it feels like about 50p worth of plastic. These are similar to what I use now, you just get a bit of a cut in then it's pretty easy, that first cut can be a pain though and solvent pipe's a good bit tougher than pushfit pipe. Attachment DeletedThe cutters you can buy like the rothenburger ones, do they work on both types of pipe? i.e. solvent and pushfit, cos the diameters are a few mm different. Made a good wedge this week and almost treated myself this afternoon

I use my trusty hacksaw for everything,, Fitted 3 multipanel pvc bathroom wall panels last week and used a saw for the long straight cuts, not used a manual saw for ages. My arm is still hurting. Fitted a roller blind for my mum this afternoon, needed to hacksaw through the tube, nearly killed me with my newly sore sawing muscles I'm so not used to manual graft, need to get back into it or my arms will look all skinny like a sparkys Since I got my multitool I don't think I've used my hacksaw more than about 3 times. You can pick em up for £50, the blades are pretty cheap at toolstation too. If you don't have one Tom, get one, you'll wonder how you managed without it.

I've got the same blue cutters you put in your first post - got them in toolstation. Not used them for waste pipe yet but fantastic on 15mm barrier.

Also got given this bad boy recently. The customer had it in a job lot from a boot fair and had no use for it. Cuts up to 5 1/2" plastic so will be good for soil pipe. Attachment Deleted
