I went on screwfix to ask a normal everyday question that an electrician would know, they would not share that knowledge, Instead they quoted rules and regs and get a spark in, It will save you money bla bla bla, bullshit,
Any working spark worth his salt knows how to stop the leccy coming in the house so he can work on the consumer unit, So either the ones on shitfix don't know, or they won't tell, I already knew the answer but i just wanted to see the response, and while i was there post my screwfix peter song,,, ha ha, I enjoyed that,
they have a big forum but its full of book readers and bullshitters,,, qwerty

It's typical of today though tom, ask someone a question and you get an automated answer, it may be from a human being, however, they're just reading it from a computer screen parrot fashioned and it's usually to ring someone else who will tell you to ring someone else only for you to arrive back at your question again!!
Where is that old British Bulldog spirit?
It certainly gave me a laugh though once I knew the ID of harry, pity it didn't go on longer!
I think Dev's sussed it but decided to keep away (he didn't want banning himself).
How did harry receive the ban?
Was it personal or just routine (probably a routine statement that everyone who is banned gets and typical of today's society who are unable to think for themselves)?
Tappy,

How do you stop the leccy?
I got a new leccy box changed for a custard & they didn’t isolate the flow. They just were very careful.
I thought it was dangerous in these days of H&s

there's a main fuse rockey, Its got a little lead seal, its in the nearest black box on the incoming main, first turn off the power at the main isolator switch, this will ensure there is no load ot the cable then just pull it out, Then when the work is done, once again make sure there's no load ( nothing taking power) then put it back in, there's no drama, no real danger unless someones stupid enough to stick their fingers or anything else in there, Its only what the power supply people will do, exept they charge £60 to do it,

Howdy, Bearwood here, my advice with electricity is to cut the main wire ( red or brown) with a set of insulated wire cutters ( don’t forget to wear thick rubber gloves too, and wear a pair of rubber boots) Then you can work safely on the house electric cables and outlets. Once you’re done all ya do is get one of them joining blocks and connect that cable back up. (again wearing rubber gloves and boots) Easy yes sirree.
