We all know heat helps to get seized up nuts off by expanding the metal and water expands by 4% vol when frozen so their could be something in this methinks... Reminded me of a story... I was once summoned late on Friday afternoon to renew a pump at the side of the solid fuel fire in the chimney breast. I met a very sarcastic tenant their who said "are you the plumber who's going to try and fit a new pump" (in a very demeaning manor)? it was obvious he was making things as difficult as possible for me and had stoked the ruddy fire so everything is hot hot hot. By some chance the pump valves actually held but the nuts where solid. "What you going to do now "? he sarcastically inquired? "I'm going back to the van for reinforcements" is all I said. Everyone in the house was sat round the fire when I reappeared at the door with my reinforcements. Mr Clever then shouts out "Everybody out of the house they've only gone and sent a bloody blow lamp and WD40 man"! Anyway I got the pump renewed and told him you've simply got to know how to use that deadly combination! I had to have a good laugh about it afterwards

Well i tried it today, had a dripping ceramic 1/4 turn in our sink ( for ages😇!) my better half has called my bluff ,and not happy about leaving a sponge underneath to dull noise lol. Inserts would not budge, wd40( i like the taste of it in tap water) even stillsons wouldnt budge either of em. When the metal started rounding with a socket on, i thought the game is up. Have to buy new taps, but not before a £1.00 arctic spray, im thinking a bit of retraction (like on a cold day starkers!) might work. Dosed it , and hey presto they shifted, but, this was the only time i had used the gordon grips ,as at this point wasnt worried about chewing head up. So its still in the air!! as to whether it helped 🤔,soon as tom done a buster vid will know more for sure

I’ve never tried CO2 or anything like that to remove anything brass & it’s mostly brass eh chaps?? I’ve always used heat, Heat & a bigger wrench. However, I guess freezing it will shrink the metal a bit & hopefully free it.
Pump valves are the biggest ball ache, but I always think there’s a bit of electro corrosion gone on with the brass to Cast Iron thread. I normally don’t fuck about with it, Heat the union nuts & try not to crush it out of shape when removing. Some Wilo circulation pumps are a plastic composite body, never have any bother undoing them!!

I've had a few that would not come apart, heat, big stillies and twating with a chisel would not undo them, So i drain down and change the lot, I'm pretty sure freezing would be of no help, when they've elecro fused, its , pump wins and plumber comes close second,
