Has anyone ever patch rendered a wall?

Got a custard with a shithole of a house & some of the renders blown & he wants it patched.

I’d usually say no but as it’s a shutter already even BB couldn’t make it look worse so as I’m quiet I’ll do it plus it’s a bungalow do no high ladders.

Do I need to pva the wall first so the sand/cement will stick?

I've done few Rocky but I'm no expert by any stretch of the imagination but always manage to make it look tidy but I'm painfully slow.

My method for your job would be

1 X uni-bond the full area after brushing clean all loose material etc
2 X cut and fix a section of this to the area with suitable fixing

3 X coat-up, fully covering the the galv-sheet and leave surface scratched for the second coat to bond too
4 X apply second coat and blend in to edges whilst polishing the surface to match existing - applying water splashed from a brush as necessary.
