1) Arrange for plumber to fit new bath (summer 2015) in new bathroom, with taps on long side against wall.
2) Fit cheap taps to bath.
3) Throw away tap instructions/paperwork
4) Two years later - find that cheap taps were a false economy as they are now dripping and you have no idea what make or model they are and getting new ceramic cartridges is going to be impossible.
5) Realise that taps need replacing for quality models, but the bath will either have to be ripped out for access or will need to go through stud wall in bedroom.
6) Cut accees hole in papered stud bedroom wall - then realise that you have no spare wallpaper of that pattern so whole wall will need re-papering after hole repaired.
Happened to me this week. Customers - if you insist on having bath taps against wall - buy quality taps and keep the paperwork!!!  |

its the new way, the salesperson sells a suite that way knowing there's future sales guarranteed, No matter how many times you tell them not to have taps on the wall, they do not listen, smiley-sad056 nay

It's one of the reasons I don't get involved with bathroom installs. Don't mind replacing/repairing bits of bathrooms, but installs are a complete ball ache. And no one thinks about practicality or quality - just blindly follow each other to get Chinese stuff from places like Viccy Plumb.
Still, more work for us, I suppose. |

I find your number six pointer does the trick, since they don't like the idea of a full re-tile since the tiles fitted are no longer available!

I had to change some taps on a bath like that and I had to take the bath out to do it, I think the fat son was using the tap as a handle to get out of the bath because it snapped one side off and flooded the downstairs sitting room. That looks like that oring and grub screw type of crazy set up? |
