Ok all you very clever and knowledgeable plumbers on here Question :-
Today while on a job using my 22mm pipe slice on old pipe been there a few years,, trying to cut 22mm pipe
suddenly thought this is taking along time to cut through then noticed it had started to Tram line so went out to my Van
picked up brand cutting wheel (kopex) came back fitted new wheel all looked OK with slice,, everything free and easy to move
as should be then tried to cut again all good cut very good no problem,, finished job left moved on to my next call
and guess what had to use my 22mm pipe slice again and to my amazement it tram lined again so had to go find another pipe slice
to complete ...
My Question is WHY the F--K did it tram line again after only cutting one pipe any ideas please !!!

Could be a few things - wrong brand wheel, spring gone, the notched space that keeps the wheel aligned could be worn down. When a pipeslice starts to tramline I buy another, I've changed one cutting wheel in all my time as a plumber and it didn't stop the slice from tramlining so never bothered since.

Classic episode! However, believe it or not I'm still using the same primus blowlamp that I bought when I was sixteen! I've exchanged plenty of bottles and had quite a few new nozzles for it though!!!! Trig, Err no, Tappy, PS Not for much longer though, my new Chinese blow lamp as been dispatched!

New pipe as some kind of oil on it don't it. Give it a good squirt of WD40 and you might be back in business. A plumber using cutters told me to go easy on the first couple turns round then go for it. It does work but that's cutters, not a pipe slice.
