Hi guys I'm looking for ideas for a temp, or even permanent fix of a pinhole leak in a plastic fitting on my boiler. (Veissman combi) Its in the dhw supply, in the flow switch fitting where it enters the block to the hex. Its easy enough to take out, in fact ive had it out half a dozen times trying different o rings and sealant thinking that was where the leak was coming from, then realised it was a tiny pinhole (cant even see it). I tried araldite over it this morning but its still there, and due to the profile of the fitting as it bends into the block I cant get anything round it like a hose clip to reinforce the repair.
Cheers Laura.

Hi Laura, I think the best thing to do is get a replacement part, look on ebay, there's always someone selling replacement parts off recycled boilers, failing that is a new part,
best of luck with that Laura,

I've used similar to this but can't find the exact one www.appliancespareswarehouse.co.uk/quiksteel-epoxy-putty-mis132.html?gclid=Cj0KCQiAhrbTBRCFARIsACY7MW1SMnRxmfvAgBeNC-Mvcjmn3czb7IZ5YhYVhlRHLl_5t2Him390MVMaAimfEALw_wcBit worked on a plastic thermostat housing for car and is still going stronge!

After spending £150 recently on a new pcb & diverter step motor I was maybe being a bit tight to fork out another £40. I was going to try a dab of solvent pipe weld but the bit I had has gone off, so maybe tomorrow.

I'd say that link of battles is worth a try for a fiver, according to the distructions it works on most things,

What about a wrap of density tape, and jublie A bit of rubber and a jubilee always works, but like I said its not a round regular shape to get the clip on. I'm hoping the solvent glue will "weld" it up tomorrow.

I'd buy a new part and do it properly, problems will come to you without creating them.

Thanks for the help chaps. I know a replacement would be the best solution but the last time I had to fork out for new parts I decided Its new boiler time if it goes again. The sticking plaster approach is just till I get round to choosing the new one. Now theres a subject thats never been asked before, Whats the best boiler, I bet everyone likes the same one.

When I did boilers Laura my choice was always Potterton Gold, because, 1. they are easy to fit 2. easy to wire 3. easy to service and maintain 4. parts are ready available and cheaper than most 5,they perform as well as all the higher end boilers 6. they are cheaper than the higher end boilers 7. I've never had a bad one,
I fitted one in my own house 12 years ago, I've never serviced it,Its never broke down, I never fitted any chemicals in it, I never fitted a filter, it delivers 13 litres per minute of hot water,
the boiler was £375 from Mr Central heating and its one of the last ever made none condencers, Which I was't supposed to fit then cos the rules said,
you must now only fit condencing boilers are you vill be shot, smiley-finger005

I would also plump for the Potterton / Baxi Duo tec Tom. And this time, the system will be spotless before installation.

Baxi for me also duotec or platinum both the same bloody good warrantys and decent ish price easy enough to fit and work on. Prob only regular fault is divvy cartridge leaks after few year , worcester over priced and i seem to get endless repairs on them but to be fair they have sold millions of them . also baxi new range i am not a fan of so def try buy the duotec b4 they are obsolete
