Hello chaps Could you please tell me what are the most common jobs you get called to? Depends on time of year really mate as winter time is heating problems mainly or burst pipes, but generally throughout the year I'd say toilet repairs, ball valves, taps.

Thanks for the welcome. I've long been a fan of your vids. Very helpful. Just wondering what you think of the short courses in plumbing...... for example the week long course run by Able skills I think they're in Dartford. It's a 5day course...aledgedly city and guilds cert 4555 02 not sure what that means By the way Tom..... loved your music vids Very good

I find toilet repairs - CC type, ball valves, leaking taps and leaking rads to be the most requested urgent repairs.

The most common activity for plumbers is ripping off old dears - if you believe the newspapers/tv.
Personally, repairing/replacing cheap taps that seemed like a bargain at the time keeps me busy. After that, bog problems and blocked wastes/gullies, etc.
Welcome to the forum.

One of the main jobs I've never minded doing is toilet repairs, I actually quite enjoy it. There's toilet jobs, and there's toilet jobs. I do maintenance plumbing for a few pubs. I charge lots extra for the urinal blockages. The stuff that comes out the blocked pipes smells gross. Even with a mask, I can still taste it the next day. Had one on new years eve. Desperate landlord at 7pm - "got a pub full of customers and they're all backing up!!"
