Last weeks jobs were: 2 kitchen sink and tap replacements. 2 elec showers replaced. 1 leaking 8mm rad feed coming through screed. 1 leaking c/c on a loo. 2 overflowing header tanks in lofts. 1 blocked solid 40mm kitchen sink waste running 3m behind kitchen units. 1 revisit to a rad I fitted the week before that was suddenly weeping from the TRV and lockshield... (Noticed new skirting board behind it when I got there) There were definitely a couple more but I can't remember what they were. So a bit of everything last week. I quite often get offered full bathroom refurbs but never have the time to do them, they're a pain in the arse tho because I end up working round the tilers diary - like he's the skilled one

Thanks for the welcome. I've long been a fan of your vids. Very helpful. Just wondering what you think of the short courses in plumbing...... for example the week long course run by Able skills I think they're in Dartford. It's a 5day course...aledgedly city and guilds cert 4555 02 not sure what that means By the way Tom..... loved your music vids Very good Able Skills are meant to be one of the best training providers but remember a weeks course will be very basic indeed. I’m not sure what you’ll learn but if you’re brand new & never plumbed & try a job or home or for someone else & it goes tits up you may get yourself in a spot of bother. Doing a few simple jobs in a controlled college environment is a whole lot different than in a property. Saying that though, you’ve got to start somewhere & I’m all for learning & getting stuck in. Just go slow & do what you feel you can.

I fix four or five Worcester boilers every day. Also fix the ground source and air source heatpumps. And oil. I love it....they pay me to do my hobby

yea, as you might know, when I fitted boilers I always used baxi/main/potterton because they are a good boiler, easy to fix/service, parts always available, cheap compared with WB and mostly brass, not tupperware,

Replaced an SMC cadet s central heating pump this morning on an old dears solid fuel boiler.
A blast from the past eh!
I reckon that pump could be over 40 years old!!
Must be a contender for the plumbing museum, me thinks.

Sadly when I got it out it's was in no fit state to be displayed in the "historical museum of plumbing items". Mainly due to the previous nights call-out plumber giving it a dam good thrashing (Basil fawlty style) in a last ditch attempt to get it going! The SMC Cadet S central heating pump (a survivor from the 70s). Attachment Deleted Attachment Deleted
