Evening All - Been requested to look at an unvented Accolade Tank tomorrow and the only info I've got on it is below its feed by a Glow Worm Ultimate 30 FF I believe - fitted in 4 bedroom detached house. Anyone worked on them and are either main items very reliable, as its in a house the customer is thinking of buying? Attachment Deleted

Hi battle, I don't know the make but I'm nearly sure its a hot water heat bank storage cylinder, commonly known in the parlace of plumbers as a sludge bucket, They are a 1980 inovation to give hot water at the same pressure as the cold, they have prblems with blender valves, pumps and as the same suggests, lots of sludge build up.
In my opinion, tell the owners to allow a couple of grand to up date the heating,

It was probably installed by Walt systems Evening PB - what would be your chosen replacement of products and design, including a ball park costing of those materials, if you are happy to advise

The cylinder is full of water being heated and circulated via the boiler and there is a very narrow coil inside that the mains water flows through and picks up the heat transfer, two problems in hard water areas the coil gets scaled up and you have limited flow and the cylinder gets full of shite like a rad does. The idea of them is you can have mains hot water that doesn't fall under any G3 regs.

It's not faulty, he's just keen to know how to give him self a budget plan if it's all got to come out. Tom thought a couple of grand but I'm thinking higher with a new boiler, filter system, expansion vessel etc any thoughts on price PB?
