First of all what a great forum tom Question I am installing a combi boiler in the loft and thinking the condense going in to the cast stack is it possible and will a standard strap on boss fit the cast stack other than that it will have to run down the wall to the grate with 11/4 pipe covering it which I think looks a bit unsightly
thanks

For connecting a condy pipe to cast iron; it’s recommended it’s fitted to the ‘wet’ part of the stack. They say that the acidic water can be detrimental to the cast iron & running water will eliminate this problem. BS or not I don’t know?

I'd say thats a steaming big heap of bull shite, In wigan in the 70's there were cooling towers connected to the local power station, as you will probably know the cooling tower condensates the steam coming out of the turbines ans runs down the cooling towers, there it forms ponds/lakes/waters rich in wildlife, fish, ducks, swans and young lads and lasses swimming in summer months, not one reported incident of acid burns, green fisn or 4 eyed ducks have ever been reported in the 100 years of thier existance, but all of a sudden since the introduction of condensing boilers, basements have been corroded, drives have sunk, kids have developed fat bodys, women have drink problems and the motorways are crowed all day long,

thats a good way endfeed, I've done that myself, use the cutter to mark the outline, then use a small drill to stitch drill, then use the hole cutter to clear up the inbetweens and hey presto,, never be tempted to twat the hole out, smiley-sad056 nay

Modern life must be so boring for the victims of the Nanny State. These poor kids that have never gone home covered in mud after climbing trees all day or had endless hours of fun going carting with carts made from old prams.
