Did the tap change job, jayzuss
Bath, basin & kitchen.
Bunged tank, still letting by a little but nothing to moan about, then cold, stop cock buried in a foot of mud, can only get spoon in to dig the bugger, turn off, still letting by.
So, basin taps piece of piss
Move on to bath notice iso, lovely, 1x 15 & 1 x 22. Turn off 22, dripping, turn off 15 & it’s spraying freezing water at me, stick a new one on no bother. Swap taps, all ok.
Then kitchen sink, bristan easy fit taps, has anyone fitted them? I couldn’t for the life of me work it out, did this, unscrewed that, anyway, nearly 2hrs & I figure it out. Upgraded flexi city under sink to copper. All good.
Unbung & turn main on, small leak in bath cold, basin ok, kitchen hot & cold wrong way round, I thought fuck it, I turned main cold off & just did the hot live, it was redders, hot as hell. All ok anyway.
Return tomorrow just to swap 22 ballofix as it’s weeping.
Good job all in all.
No real issues.
What would you have charged labour, bit if 15mm cooper, 3 15mm ballofix?
I’ll swap the 22 tomorrow as a favour.
Cheers all.

It's that famous question of risk against reward, factoring in the property type and owners ability to live with a slight mark or not.
So with that in mind and the customer not being too fastidious and payment in cash I would of been happy with £200 and if I thought I'm going to get my collar felt for every mark in the house, I would of told them £500 cause carpet cleaning, wall painting, re-grouting and every other house fault will be your fault.

The house was no palace to be honest, ex council. I think I went in a bit cheap, but for 4hrs graft I was happy. £170 I charged

I've fitted bristan easyfit before, just as difficult as normal taps to fit, gets easier if you replace them in a few years as the base stays there (if it's still in good nick). I've heard that they are pretty much guaranteed to pop given enough time, the grub screw that holds the top on will eventually release and let the top part pop off leaving a couple of full pressure bespoke water features in the kitchen. I would have charged 120 for 3 tap changes, maybe a bit more because 1 set was on a bath, would have charged a bit more to hardpipe the flexicity pipework too. But darn sarf you have your own prices, so would expect to see your price higher than mine. It's good to see you're charging the going rate even though you're finding your feet, I made the mistake of going in cheap before I fully established my business, still get customers thinking I'll work all day for 50p I possibly would have put my tools away when seeing the toby buried in mud and told them to call me when they've cleared it, maybe not if it was elderly customers, but I don't tend to clear then if I can help it.

It was a bit annoying to say the least. If I hadn’t found the stop tap idve told her to ring Thames water. She was a nice woman But only 1 cup of tea
