Hi I have had a customer contact me about problems with controlling the temperature control on his un-vented cylinder its a Tribune HE to me it seems its the cylinder thermostat now I have located a replacement exactly the same, now when I read the MI it seems to me that you do not have to drain down the cylinder to do the swap as there seems to be a separate tube that remains in the side of the cylinder so retaining the tank water,, you then just undo the first nut and then the rodded thermostat will then just come out ,,, spoke to merchant about this a nice chap,, he went and checked out the new thermostat to see if it was how I thought it was as per instructions ,,he said it definitely looks like that so it should be just as I thought ,,but can anyone on hear confer with my thoughts please see uploaded instructions thank you.. yes you can do those without draining down, also if you get the other type that does not have the ' dry tube' system, if you turn off the inlet to the cylinder and open the hot tap to take the pressure away, you can change the immersion without draining down if you have the tools and a few towels handy, I pint of water or there abouts is all you'll lose and if you do them often, you'll get good and lose just a few drops,
