I noticed the pipe is hep 20? And the fitting is j,g would insurance companies try to get out payment if there was a flood? Due to fitting failing? We know it will work fine, but the manufacturers say use there pipe for there fittings. I'd reckon so, they'll use any excuse to get out of it. To be fair though, Rocky's stumbled upon a shocking install, that won't be all that's wrong with it That's the thing with plumbing, you're usually working on something an idiot has installed (or even worse - a builder) so never know what's wrong with it unless you rip it all out..

Around about 2002 when plastic was becoming the norm on new build sites, I was working for a big plumbing firm and they were getting lots of leaks on JG fittings , They sent a representative down and he got all the plumbers in a meeting and more or less said that ALL the leaks were due to bad installation methods, the pipe and fittings will not leak if put together correctley and tested, Any insurance claim will be void if, 1. the fittings must be kept in the bag before fitting 2. the site must be dust free, ( yea right, ) 3. the joints must be tested with pressure tested 4. testing must be witnessed and signed for by site managment 5.installation must be guarded against tampering,
in other words,,,an insurance claim is immpossible, smiley-sad056 nay

Thx arfur. The reducer isn’t the big problem really, it’s the broken pipe in the reducer in the tee. I’m just going to cut it all out & replace. Cheers
